Technical Program Manager

LOCATION: Menlo Park, CA & San Francisco, CA

A leading venture capital firm is seeking a Technical Program Manager to serve as the right hand to the Chief Information Officer and help drive technology programs across the firm. This is a high-impact role for someone who can manage complex technical initiatives, partner closely with engineers and external vendors, and operate with strong judgment in a fast-paced, confidential environment.

This person will support a lean technology team and help move key programs forward across internal tooling, AI automation, fundraising operations, cybersecurity, web properties, and legal/compliance workflows. The ideal candidate is highly organized, technically fluent, and comfortable working directly with senior leadership.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner directly with the CIO to manage priorities, program commitments, executive briefings, and cross-functional follow-through.
  • Own multiple technical programs from planning through execution, including scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, and delivery timelines.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to scope, sequence, and ship internal tooling, AI automation, data integrations, and operational technology initiatives.
  • Manage external development, design, cybersecurity, and technology partners, including onboarding, evaluations, milestone tracking, and day-to-day communication.
  • Support fundraising and investor operations technology, including investor portals, permissioning, data rooms, LP onboarding workflows, and internal training.
  • Lead web and digital property programs, including vendor coordination, QA, content reconciliation, and launches.
  • Partner with legal and compliance stakeholders on workflow improvements, automation, requirements gathering, and program execution.
  • Maintain clear program documentation, decision logs, status updates, and reporting for senior leadership.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management, technical project management, technology operations, or a related role.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent programs with competing priorities and stakeholders.
  • Strong ability to support a senior executive or technology leader as a trusted right hand.
  • Comfort working in a technical environment; coding is not required, but you should be able to partner effectively with engineers and understand software, AI tooling, and systems discussions.
  • Strong vendor and external partner management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear updates for senior leadership.
  • High discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • Strong bias toward automation, efficiency, and improving how teams work.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in venture capital, private equity, asset management, financial services, or professional services.
  • Familiarity with fundraising operations, investor portals, LP relations workflows, CRM systems, or fund administration tools.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, or enterprise technology initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools or enterprise AI platforms.
